YOU CAN MISS A LOT OF LITTLE FUN THINGS THIS WAY. This is an unofficial guide to King's Quest III, an adventure game from Sierra On-Line. You have to have a Coco 3 and 512K to play this adventure. To be consise, you are a sorcerer's apprentice with a really rotten wizard for your master. To be honest, he doesn't like you one bit, much less trust you with any of his magic. Lucky for you, he goes on long trips and will generally leave you along. As long as he doesn't catch you doing any magic. This part will tell you where to find the ingredients but not how to do the spells. This game also has some tricky arcade-like placeswhere you must maneuver your character along cliffs, without falling to your death. This is a 3-d game. You move your guy around rocks, trees, bad guys, you name it. It's a new high in adventuring! So here we go. Hope you are ready. Do what the wizard tells you to do. When he leaves, you can party all you want for approx. 1 hour- max. Don't forget the bowl in the kitchen. Ditto the spoon. Ditto the knife. Also the cup in the dining room. The wizard's bedroom contains lot's of goodies. Mirror in dresser. Rose essence in other dresser. The magic map is in the closet, behind stuff. Rub your hand along the top of the closet for the key. Now to check out the study. The key opens the cabinet and voila, the magic wand. Be sure and put the wand back after you use it. Look at the books in the bookshelves. When you get the trap door open, down you go. Go back upstairs if you see that cat at the bottom of the cellar stairs. He won't let you by. Go to the shelves down below and get the fish bone, saffron, nightshade, juice, mandrake root powder, toadstool powder, toad spittle. Remember, everything marked with an * in your inventory will cause the wizard, upon seeing you, to 'poof' you out of existence. So guess what, you hide it all under your bed! Try not to forget what's there. You can't really find out what you stashed later. The fly wings are on the floor by the telescope. OK. ENOUGH ABOUT THE HOUSE. Once you go down the mountain, watch for eagle feathers. The thimble and dew are at the three bears. You need to show the Medusa your mirror grin. The reptile skin is in the desert. So is the special cactus you will need. The acorns are by the big oak tree. Isn't that where they should be? The mud is- where else- by the stream or ocean. The mistletoe is in a tree by the ocean. Don't mess with the spider web unless you are an eagle. The oracle gives you the stone. The spell where you can listen to the animals is interesting. You find out a little of your past. Buy your salt, pouch, lard, fish oil at the store. Oh- you need money. Try turning into a fly in the saloon when the bandits are there. Pull the rope and climb the rope ladder. Wait outside and look inside the door until it seems quiet. If you got robber by the bandits before, your stuff is in the chest. . Get the purse full of coins. Now buy your stuff at the store. You can get fur from the dog or cat. Chickens have feathers, too. You need cat fur fot the cat cookie. Get the just right bowl of porridge from the 3 bears. Now hide the cat cookie in it. voila! Feed it to the wizard and he won't bother you any more. After visiting the oracle in the cave, you will notice a large sailing ship at the pier. Get all your spells together and anything else you may need. Go to the saloon. Have at least one gold coin for the captain. Enter the gangplank and you're off the island for good. Now you have to get the small crate and put it by the big one. Jump and climb up the ladder. Your stuff is in the captain's cabin, in the chest. Wait until the ship has sighted land and anchored. Go back to the hold and put everyone to sleep. There's a shovel by the lifeboat to dig up the treasure (listen to the rats) Jump off the front of the ship and swim for it. Now it's up and over the mountains. Climb up the mountain stream. Watch out for the snowman. Navigate the cliffs and caves. Finally you reach the end of the trail. Time to rescue your sister. Go up the stairs. Now make yourself invisible. go where the 3- headed dragon is and brew up a storm. Untie your sister and tell her to follow you. Back down the stairs and west through the rocks. Past the well and north. The old crone will shriek for joy upon seeing you and your sister coming up the path. Now enjoy the magnificent homecoming. The end.
